2nd blog Dillon Drake

I have read the graphic novel series Deathnote written by Tsugumi Ohba. I read all fifteen books in the series. In this series, an excellent student named Light, finds a notebook called the Deathnote. The purpose of this notebook was when you wrote somebodies name in the book they would die. He used it to kill criminals and for good, but even though he was using it this way he turned into a murderer. Then L, an expert investigator, tries to find Light, and throughout the series they try to outsmart each other. In the end, L dies but his prodigy catches Light.
This was one of my favorite series because it always caught you off guard and made you want to know more. I think the author wrote this to tell you the troubles of being able to have ultimate power. I think this was her motivation because many people want this, but they do not know the harm. The theme in this series was greed because Light always wanted more.
The best character was L because he never gave up and always thought of good ways to catch Light. He changed when Light finally outsmarted him and died. One quotation was L saying, “I just can’t sit any other way than this. If I sit the way other people do, my reasoning ability drops by 40%.” This is important because he sat a certain way to figure out situations which was very important in the book. A couple questions I have over this series is what would have happened if Light wasn't caught, and what would happen if someone else got their hands on this notebook?
