I am reading the first book in the Black Butler graphic novel series. Yana Toboso wrote this series. I am on the third chapter in the first book. So far the master of the Phantomfive family has been kidnapped and Sebastian, the butler, is coming to save him.
I like this series because it has a lot of action. The butler also has a good sense of humor and all around good guy. I think the author wrote this to create a good storyline for older teens. I believe this was her motivation because most older teens love books with action. The theme in the first book is protection because Sebastian keeps him protected and will protect him at all costs.
The best character is Sebastian the butler because he can do many things while being devoted to protecting his master. A quotation from the first book is by Sebastian when he says, "Only two kinds of people exist in this world, those who steal and those who are stolen from." This is important because it shows his values. Some questions I have is what is going to happen, and who really is Sebastian?
